Cashless transactions at Metro Rail parking lots

From next month commuters travelling by Chennai Metro Rail can use credit or debit cards to pay the parking fees at the metro railway stations.
The phase I of the project covers 45 km of the city that extends from Washermanpet to Chennai airport (23 km) and Chennai Central to St. Thomas Mount (22 km).On an average 18,000 commuters are traveling by metro trains.
Commuters come to metro rail stations from their house by two wheelers or four wheelers. After parking the vehicles at the parking lot of the railway stations, they travel to various destinations by metro trains. For the convenience of passengers parking lots are there in 12 stations including Alandur, Meenambakkam, St Thomas Mount, Vadapalani and Ashok Nagar.
Parking tariff at metro stations are as under:

In between, It has been decided to collect the parking fees from commuters through credit or debit cards. Two swipe machines are being installed at the 12 the parking lots of the 12 stations
