Retired army officer arrested in Dilson murder case

After a week of Chennai boy Dilson`s murder, the CB-CID police has identified the person who shot the boy notoriously.

Retired Lieutenant Colonel Ramaraj, 58, who shot the boy was arrested on Sunday. According to CB-CID sources Mr. Ramaraj, who was a resident of the army quarters on Flagstaff House Road had fired the shot from his personal rifle for which he had applied for a renewal of the license in 2008, which he is yet to receive.

Investigations reveal that ex-armyman had shot the boy Dilson, who succumbed to his injuries later that day.  Ramaraj dumped the murder weapon in the Cooum river the same night of the incident.   Ramaraj was at his balcony of his house when he shot at Dilson.

Ramaraj was produced in Georgetown court. In his confession, Ramaraj told that he had repeatedly warned Dilson and his friends who entered the courtyard to pick Badam fruit on several occasions. He fired the shot from his residence.
