MOBILE RATION SHOP BEING PILOT TESTED

The Triplicane Urban Cooperative Society`s is launching ‘Ration shop on a mobile van` to service people at points close to their houses. K Balachandran , Commissioner , Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department said that the scheme is being pilot tested for two months and would be extended to the other areas of the city after taking feedback for improvements. The scheme was launched in Kodambakkam.
It is ‘Tamil Nadu Public Distribution System – service at your door step` is being introduced in the first phase to cover seven streets in Kodambakkam. The mobile van delivers mostly pre packed material to prevent adulteration and would be operational for seven days in a month between 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
