“IIT-MADRAS’S ‘STRATEGIC VISION 2010

The Director of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, M.S. Ananth announced on Tuesday that IIT-Madras was drafting its ‘Strategic Vision 2010` .
The Strategic will take IIT-Madras towards achieving global eminence. Mr Anand presented ‘IIT Madras: Strategic Plan 2020` to a number of alumni and emphasized that the students must be allowed to pursue whatever which will take them to whatever they want to be in life. In support of his point of view he said that “need of the hour model” through courses such as clinical engineering, petroleum technology, nuclear engineering should be introduced. He also stressed the importance of a “mix of disciplines,” especially humanities with science and engineering. The director said that IIT-Madras should become an International campus in terms of attracting students from abroad. Kris Gopalakrishnan, chairman, Infosys also spoke on the occasion.
