BIOMETRIC RATION CARDS IN TN

Tamilnadu will have biometric ration cards
from June 2011. This expected to prevent bogus or fake ration cards from the
use. New card will have photos, finger prints and iris images. The cards that
are expiring in December, 09 would be valid till the new card is
issued. Database updating is to be done along with the census department. Going
by the present figure about two crore families are to be covered.
