Activist SP Udayakumar, who has been opposing against the nuclear plant Kudankulam, joined Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Tamil Nadu on Friday.
Convener of People`s Movement against Nuclear Energy (PMANE), Udayakumar led
the movement against the Kudankulam nuclear plant.
Apart from Udayakumar, other prominent anti-nuclear activists including MP Jesurajan and Pushparayan also joined the Aam Aadmi Party.
The anti-nuclear activist is the latest entrant in the party, which will be contesting Lok Sabha polls this year for several places like Kanyakumari, Thuthukudi and Nellai.
During Aam Aadmi Party�s advisory meeting in Nellai, Udayakumar gave his speech via video conferencing yesterday.
Udayakumar will definitely receive an outstanding position in the party, party zones revealed.
He has been maintaining a superior relationship with Arvind Kejriwal before getting into party. During his anti-nuclear activity against Kudankulam, Udayakumar has met Arvind Kejriwal many times.
Even Udayakumar gave his wishes to Arvind Kejriwal via phone, when Aam Aadmi Party�s victory in Delhi. In this stance, Arvind Kejriwal has decided to give Udayakumar a position of Party�s TamilNadu State Leader post. Through Udayakumar we are anticipating that the party will grow to higher in TamilNadu, higher officials o of the party whispered.
Also Arvind Kejriwal will be presenting his supporter event in Kanyakumari district to gather the votes for Udayakumar.
