Illegal autos will be forced out off roads

Illegal autorickshaws will very soon face the wrath of the State Transport Department because most of these autos ply without permits and valid ownership documents. The State Transport Department has categorically mentioned that auto rickshaw owners should appear in person and collect the new fare cards and recalibrated meters.
Private money lenders usually finance these autos and when the owner fails to pay the interest, the vehicle is seized by the moneylender who then hires another driver to run the vehicle. The vehicle documents, however, continued to be in the name of the original owners. Now the drivers will not get the rate cards and meters if the original owner does not make his appearance in person.
For transfer of ownership too, the original and new owners have to go to the regional transport office and sign the transfer order.
