Traffic changes at Sholinganallur signal welcomed by commuters

Chennai Traffic Police have recently made some traffic changes at Sholinganallur signal on the Old Mahabalipuram Road. The traffic changes, which were introduced on an experimental basis recently, do away with right turns for vehicles coming from both directions.
For example, someone coming from Madhya Kailash and wanting to go to Medavakkam cannot take a right turn at the signal. Similarly, anyone coming from Kelambakkam and wanting to reach the East Coast Road (ECR) will have to go straight and come back to the signal after taking a `U` turn. "The road is broad and so traffic won`t be affected when the vehicles take the `U` turn.
The traffic police have decided to stick to the new system since it reduced traffic pile-up on the OMR.Commuters have welcomed this move by the Chennai Traffic Police.
