Amma Canteen in GH soon

A canteen spanning 5000 sq. ft. will be opened shortly in the Government General Hospital. The canteen will serve food that will be prepared by the Amma Unavagams and will serve idlis, pongal and everything else that is on their menu.
The canteen will have one kitchen and two dining halls and is expected to hold up to 300 people. ‘Most of the visitors bring food from home or restaurants and eat in the hospital corridors. They litter the hospital, raising infection risk. The budget canteen would reduce this problem to a large extent’, said Dr. V. Kanagasabai, Dean of the Hospital.
