The ‘Sukla Paksham Chathuthi’  (the growing of the Moon for the fortnight after New Moon Day) is called ‘Vara Chathurthi’ and the Krishan Paksham Chathurthi (The reducing phase of the moon for the fortnight after Full Moon Day) is called ‘Sankatahara Chaturthi’.
