There are many government run coaching centres in the state of Tamil Nadu that are offering coaching for the students for NEET, IIT entrance examinations etc. These coaching centres have got very less number of students studying is known. The news that has come out now is due to the poor patronage of students, the state school education department has issued a circular to all the headmasters to bring more students to these coaching centres in TN.

It must not be forgotten that the government of Tamil Nadu grabbed the attention of many when it opened more than 450 coaching centres to train the students for NEET or national eligibility cum entrance test and JEE or joint entrance examination of IIT. It was expected by the government that more than 10000 students would join these coaching centres. The number of students in most of these coaching centres was low. The low patronage was due to factors like lack of teachers or absenteeism, low teaching standards and lack of interest etc.

On Friday, 23rd November 2018, a circular was issued by Mr. V.C. Rameshwaramurugan, director of TN school education department. As per the circular it is brought out that all CEO or chief educational officers and school headmasters must encourage more students to join these coaching centres. It must be taken into account that the National Testing Agency or NTA has set 30th November as the deadline to apply for NEET. It is known that there are many students belonging to the cyclone Gaja affected places in TN who want to apply for NEET. The director of TN school education department has asked the officials of the education department to make necessary arrangements so that these cyclone affected students could apply for NEET without any issues. It is known that NEET application process is online and the students have been asked to make use of desktop with internet facilities.
