In Chennai colleges, B.Com is the highly sought after course now

Just In the month of April the plus two examinations in Tamil Nadu got over with many students writing the examinations. After many days of anxiety for both students as well as their parents regarding the results, on Wednesday, 16th of May 2018, the plus two results were declared in the state of Tamil Nadu.

The latest news is the lure of a career in the corporate sector is high and the course B.Com is still the top course sought by the students now in the colleges in Chennai city. It is superb to see students showing interest in the science stream also and many popular institutions are running short of applications.

The entire process for admission is now made online for the student sake is well known. Inspite of this there were long queues outside many colleges in Chennai after the results were announced on Wednesday 16th May.

Temporary guidance cell has been set up almost in every college and this cell offers superb advice to the students plus their parents about various courses. This cell also plays great role in helping the students know details regarding their job opportunities and higher studies.

It is brought out that the students who has got more than 90 % in the plus two exams have got great chance to get B.Com seat.

A former principal of a popular government funded college in Chennai city spoke about how B.Com is highly sought after course and how this superb course has got great job opportunities in banking, financing, accounting etc. Other science courses like BSc (Chemistry), B Sc (Physics) etc are also preferred by the students now as these courses are superb. It must be noted that the students opt for these science based courses as they feel that engineering course would not take them far in their career. There are many students who also take up BSc (Zoology) or BSc (Botany) as there is increased exposure attained with these subjects and it would help the students in their research based works.  

General Secretary of Association of University Teachers, Mr. N. Shettu, spoke about the popular misconception that taking up chartered accountancy or CA course getting easy after B.Com degree.
