Scorching Kathiri veyil summer session starts tomorrow (4th May)

The peak of the summer season of scorching heat, known as the kathiri veyil period is all set to start tomorrow (Friday, 4th May).

This signals the start of unbearable scorching heat for the next 24 days.

As per the Hindu Almanac, the session is known as Agni Nakshatram or kathiri veyil, is considered to be the peak of the summer season.

As per the astrology and the Hindu Almanac schedules, the session of Agni Nakshatram or kathiri veyil is set to start on the Tamil star day of Bharani and ends on the day of Tamil star Krithigai covering the suns travel is considered as the summer peak.

This years kathiri veyil season is set to start tomorrow (4th May). As usual, the intensity of the scorching heat during this period is expected to be ultra-high.

The Hindu Almanac deviser, explained in this regard that the kathiri veyil, which starts tomorrow, is slated to end on 28th May. So, the intensity of the scorching heat will be pretty high during these 24 days.

So far, the weather centres have not come up with any information on this topic.

However, as regards todays weather, the director of the Chennai Meteorological Centre, S. Balachandran, informed that the nature of the scorching heat is as per expectations and is normal for the summer season. When the winds from North and the South meet, there are prospects of summer rains.

Accordingly, there are prospects of rain with thunder caused by thermal convection in Vellore, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, and Namakkal districts.

A temperature in the range of 39 to 42 Degrees Celsius is likely to be recorded in Vellore, Karur, Perambalur, Trichy, and Madurai.

In the districts lying far away from the coastal areas, cyclonic winds may blow.

The Chennai Metro City will be partly cloudy. A maximum temperature of 37 Degrees Celsius will prevail.
