Akshaya Tritiya gold sales commences early morning in all shops

Today is the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya (Wednesday, 18th April). There is a long traditional believed that buying gold today will bring wealth and prosperity to the family.
So, in order to facilitate the prospective customers to buy gold jewellery items without jostling crowds and hardships, several shops opened early in the morning, by 5.00 AM.
The sales of gold items are expected to be several times more than the normal trade. The shops have also arranged for good safety measures in order to prevent any criminal activities.
The president of the Chennai gold and diamond jewellery traders’ association, Jayanthilal Challani, explained in this regard:
‘Lots of customers are expected to visit our shops today. So, if all visitors are admitted at once, the customers may have difficulty in the selection of jewellery items. So, we have decided to allow only a fixed number of customers at intervals. Once the visitors inside the shop finish their purchase, the next lot of visitors will be allowed in. CCTV monitoring equipment has been installed to check and prevent any criminal incidents.
The regular opening time of the shops is 9.30 AM. However, we have opened the shops today early in the morning by 5.00 AM. The other shops will open by 7.00 AM. Today (Wednesday, 18th April), the shops will remain open until midnight.
Care has been taken to ensure that there are no difficulties for the customers and several facilities have been arranged to ensure this.
