Supply of water to many parts in southern Chennai to be disrupted on Wednesday and Thursday

Water is very essential in our lives and it is highly impossible that we could do our daily activities without the supply of water. This latest piece of news regarding the water supply would certainly shock many people now.
It is now brought out that on Wednesday 18th April and on Thursday 19th April, supply of water to parts of south Chennai would be disrupted. The reason is because of the maintenance works that would take place at the desalination plant in Nemmeli.
It is known that this desalination plant located at Nemmeli is responsible in producing 100 million litres of treated seawater every day. Many important southern localities such as Adyar, Besant Nagar, Sholinganallur, ECR, Neelankarai, Kottivakkam, Perungudi, Thiruvanmiyur, Pallavakkam, Velachery would be affected because of disrupted water supply on the above mentioned dates.
Starting from 10 am on Wednesday to 10am on Thursday this desalination unit at Nemmeli would be shut for the sake of maintenance works.
Storing sufficient water is a must now and this was confirmed by the metro water officials. Metro water engineers belonging to respective zones could also be contacted in case of any urgent requirement.
