2223 Vacancies for graduate teachers in government schools announced

All the government high schools and higher secondary schools function under the control of the Directorate of School Education. Postgraduate teachers, graduate teachers, and the secondary grade teachers work in these schools.
In this situation, a count has been taken on the vacancies available in all the government schools and sent to the state government department of school education. As per this, there are 2223 vacancies for the cadre of graduate teachers alone.
The subject-wise details of vacancies in all government schools are as under:
Tamil-299, English-237, Mathematics-468, Science-731, and Social Science- 488
As for the appointments of teachers, 50% of the appointments are done through direct recruitment and the Balance 50% is done through promotions.
For the selection/appointment of graduate teachers, it is based on the ‘weightage marks’ allotted for the candidates who had passed the Teachers’ Eligibility test conducted by Teachers’ Recruitment Board (TRB).
Under the weightage mark system, 60% is allotted for the marks obtained in the teachers’ eligibility teat and 40% is allotted for the marks obtained in +2, graduation, and B. Ed.
