A facility has been introduced to make online bookings for a coach or even an exclusive train when planning for a group travel for the occasion of marriages or sight-seeing tours.
An exclusive coach/train can be booked online for group travel on occasions of weddings, sight-seeing or social functions. The Railway administration will link an exclusive additional coach to the booked train for this purpose.
In a similar trend, the Railway Administration also offers to arrange an exclusive train for some special travels organized by the various corporate, educational, and other industry sectors.
As per the present system, while booking for a separate coach or train, the person has to contact and apply for the same to the Railway Supervisor or the Station Master, then pay the required amount and get a receipt. After the application is scrutinized, a special coach or train will be allotted.
The various sight-seeing and other tour agencies follow this procedure currently to book separate coaches. However, this procedure entails a lot of travel and time.
Now, the Indian Railways have given approval to IRCTC (Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation) to introduce the facility of online booking of a separate coach or train. So, it has now become easier, simpler, and quicker to book special coach/train for group travels on weddings and sight-seeing.
