Special buses in operation in Chennai on the occasion of Kaanum Pongal

As huge crowds of people are expected today (Tuesday, 16th January) being the Kaanum Pongal day in the Pongal festive series visiting various places of entertainment.
For the benefit of the additional crowd expected on the roads, and also facilitate their travel, special buses are being operated to several interesting and prominent places of visit such as Anna square (Marina Beach), Vandalur Zoological Park, Kovalam, Mamallapuram, Kishkindha, Queensland, Besant Nagar, Broadway, Tambaram, Thiruvanmiyur, and Island Grounds (where the Tourism Fair is in progress).
The buses will operate from – Tollgate, Avadi, Ayyappanthangal, Adyar, Karanodai, Perumbakkam, Kelambakkam, Kannagi Nagar, Red Hills, Kannadasan Nagar, Koyambedu, Poonamallee, Vadapalani, Ayanavaram, Perambur, Villivakkam, Sunguvarchathiram, Naduveerappattu, Injambakkam, Thiruporur, Chengalpattu, Madhavaram, Pattabhiram, KK Nagar, Ambattur, Guindy, and T Nagar.
Further, in order to facilitate the return journey back home of the people who had undertaken visits to their places during the Pongal Holidays, special buses will be operated for the benefit of the travellers to the Southern districts tomorrow (Wednesday, 17th January) from 3.30AM from the Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus, Perungalathur, and the Central railway station.
