Weather Forecast for the week in India (Dec 12 - Dec 17)

During the upcoming week, wintry conditions will strengthen over the plains of North India and foggy days will make an appearance. Most parts of Central, East and South India will remain dry.

Let us take a look at the weather forecast for the week:

North India

Due to the prevailing Western Disturbance and induced cyclonic circulation, rain and snow will occur over Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir while the plains of North India will witness rains for a good number of days. These weather activities will continue until December 14. During this night, minimum temperatures will witness a rise while maximums will observe a significant drop.

After December 14, during the latter half of the week, weather will become sunny during the day with fog making an appearance during the morning hours. As the Western Disturbance will move away and the winds will change direction, minimums will witness a significant decrease.

Central India

During the coming week, no significant weather activity is expected to occur over the central parts of the country. Today, North Madhya Pradesh may witness light rainfall activity. Madhya Pradesh and parts of Maharashtra may witness a drop in temperatures during this week.

East and Northeast India

During the next 48 hours, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura will witness scattered light rains in view of the cyclonic circulation persisting over the region. Thereafter, weather will become dry and sunny days will take over.

During the second half of the week, East India may witness a drop in the minimum temperatures. Shallow to moderate fog may make an appearance  during the morning hours.

South India

Due to the persisting cyclonic circulation over Comorin region, most parts of Kerala and extreme southern region of Tamil Nadu may witness during the next 48 hours. Thereafter, during the mid week, South Coastal Tamil Nadu is expected to witness some rains, Chennai may also see light rains during that period. Other areas will remain dry.
