Public holiday in R.K. Nagar on 21st December

Due to the R.K. Nagar by-election, the state government of Tamil Nadu has declared a public holiday on 21st December in the areas covered by this constituency.
In this regard, a special announcement has been released by the Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan states that as the byelection for the Legislative Assembly Constituency of R. K. Nagar, Chennai on Thursday, 21st December, a public holiday has been declared on this day for the voters/residents in this constituency.
A paid holiday has to be given to all the employees who are registered as voters in the R. K. Nagar constituency on Thursday, 21st December.
All the state government offices, the public sector undertakings, government factories, and other institutions who function under the control of the state government and all the educational institutions will remain closed on 21st December in R.K. Nagar constituency.
