Construction of Flood prone repairs for preventing Water Stagnation in Chennai

Chennai and the Floods
The monsoons of Chennai for the last three years had clearly shown the flaws in the infrastructure of our metropolitan and many steps had been taken into account and preparations of those infrastructure arrangements are going on to avoid the flood on the upcoming rainfalls of the over populated city.
 
The year 2015 and the last rainfall of this year produced damages across the low lying areas of Chennai and Government is highly criticized for the poor infrastructure planning and the maintenance. Followed by these serious problems of Flood, Government has announced the construction of 15 bridges in the areas where usually flood damages are very high in and around the city.
 
Official test reports of the construction
Along with the Bridge Construction in Flood prone areas there are also plans for the repair and re-construction of 187 roads of Chennai where mostly in the low lying areas of Velachery, Porur, Madipakkam, Poonamalle and most of the parts of Northern Chennai. Specially appointed Engineers had submitted the soil test reports and the construction plans to the government for the avoidance of stagnant waters during the rainfall monsoons. It is estimated about 25 crores to construct the 15 bridges along the belt of St.Thomas Mount, Ponamalle and Villivakkam.
 
Initial Soil reports are in a favorable parameters and once the plan is approved the constructions will be commenced soon.
