Advance booking for Pongal special buses commences

The advance booking for the special buses to be operated for Pongal festival commenced. The officials have informed the full details of the Pongal special buses will be released in the next 2 weeks.
4 successive holidays fall from 14th January to 17th January 2018 for the occasion of the Pongal festival.
Hence, lakhs of people would have planned their trip to their native places to celebrate Pongal along with their family.
There are 125 places throughout Tamil Nadu where advance booking can be done. In Chennai, there are 19 centres for advance booking including Koyambedu, T. Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur, and Tambaram.
As there is a facility to book tickets 60 days in advance, the people can start booking their tickets for Pongal travel right now.
The transport officials explained that it has been presently planned to run the special buses for the occasion of Christmas. However, as there is a 60 days provision for advance booking, the reservation for Pongal travel has also commenced.
Advance booking can be done as usual at the centres or online at www.tnstc.in.
A total of 12000 special buses were run during last Pongal. It is planned to increase this number for this year Pongal. An official announcement is expected in the next 2 weeks.
