IIT Madras named among top 20 BRICS universities

BRICS (The Federation of the developing countries - Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) has selected 300 universities as belonging to the international standards.
IIT Madras has secured the 18th place in this list. Delhi IIT is in the 15th place and Bengaluru IIT, in the 10th place.
China`s Beijing University and other universities have occupied the 1st 3 places.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman V. S. Chauhan shared this information, He informed that measures are being initiated to revise some of the old systems and procedures. He observed that the central government is fully aware of the essential point that universities can provide the pride for the country.
