Fresh recruitments down in IT sector

Fresh recruitments are gradually coming down in the IT industry. TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra, and Cognizant are the leaders in the Information Technology field.
As on March, 1247934 persons had been employed by the above firms. However, during the period April to September, the number of employees has come down by 4157. They have cut down the recruitment of new employees. In an analysis, whereas the number of employees has increased slightly in TCS and HCL, it has rather come down in other companies such as Cognizant, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra.
Last year, the above 5 companies put together, had recruited 59400 new employees. On the other hand, during the quarter from January to June, 10 leading IT companies have recruited only 205 new employees.
A recent survey has established the new fields of advanced technologies, such as cloud technology, Artificial Intelligence, and automation are attributed to be the main reason for certain departments in the IT majors to need fewer employees.
