Ayudha Pooja special sales commenced in Koyambedu vegetable market

This year, the Ayudha Pooja festival falls on 29th September, Friday. It is a yearly tradition to conduct a Ayudha Pooja Special Sales market in the Chennai Koyambedu wholesale (vegetable and fruit) market.

On behalf of the Koyambedu Market Administration Council, this year market was put up for auction and the shops were sold at Rs. 7.28 Lakhs. In the Koyambedu wholesale complex, the special items required for performing Ayudha Pooja, such as flat rice (aval), puffed rice (pori), groundnuts, banana plantains sprout, and pumpkins. Will be sold at several stalls.

These stalls will be open for sales from Monday (25th September) for 10 days. There are around 1000 shops set up. The auction for the shop setters was sold at Rs, 5000 more than the last year.

The official of the Koyambedu Special market Administration explained that it is a yearly tradition to set up special stalls for the occasion of Pongal, Ayudha Pooja, and Vinayaka Chathurthi, The special market functions from Monday (25th September). It will be open for 10 days.

The shops are set up in order to facilitate the public to buy all the items required for performing the festival and Pooja in a single place at reasonably lower prices. Thus, this special market will be for the benefit of the public.
