All motorists must carry original license from September 1

The state government of Tamil Nadu had announced that all motorists must have the original driving licence while driving.
The state minister for transport, Vijayabhaskar, in an interview, informed that over 9500 driving licences have been suspended for violation of traffic rules.
Drunken driving, violating the traffic rules and regulations, and taking excess luggage are the 3 major reasons for licences being confiscated.
All motorists must possess the original driving licence while driving. This will help reduce the number of accidents. This action has been mainly initiated in order to reduce the number of vehicle accidents and to reduce the number deaths.
When you consider the national level and context, the best roads are available only in Tamil Nadu. Probably, this could be the reason for the increasing number of accidents.
Due to the initiatives and actions taken by the ministry of transport, around 3240 accidents have been averted and a possible 309 deaths have been prevented.
Battery-operated MTC buses will be operated in the Chennai Metro City before the end of this year.
