Airtel to launch 4G Smartphone for just Rs 2,500

Bharti Airtel, the largest telecom operators with maximum subscriber base is in talks with a few handset makers in order to launch a new 4G smartphone before Diwali this year that falls in October, say media reports. For making this mass market phone, Airtel is in talks with two handset makers Lava and Karbonn.
This measure by Airtel is a counteract to the launch of 4G feature phone by Reliance Jio priced Rs 1500. By September this year, JioPhone is likely to enter the market. Beta testing for the phone is already started, as stated by Reliance Jio earlier.
JioPhone will come with free voice calling and really cheap internet packs. There are going to be similar offers and services from Airtel as well which is going to be Android based. On this Airtel phone, one can download all the apps available on Google Play app store.
Because of the new entrant Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel that has launched a strong foot in the telecom market in India is eventually losing grounds. As Jio came up with drastic free voice calling and dirt cheap internet packs, all the revenues made by Airtel became questionable.
