As there are seasonal changes and with the onset of monsoon, doctors strictly warn people not to consume roadside food or drink. This will have increased chance of typhoid, diarrhea, cholera, gastroenteritis or paratyphoid.

Because of water logging, contamination of food, air and water, people in Chennai city are largely concerned. Doctors warn that people should take precautionary measures if they want to stay safe during this monsoon season.

Drink boiled water:
With seasonal changes, fever or cold are very common. Even with mild showers, health problems may grave. During monsoon, people need to be even more cautious about diseases like malaria, dysentery, cholera, etc. For this, people should start consuming boiling water to drink and cook, say doctors.

Strictly no roadside food:
When you eat fruits or vegetables raw, you need to make sure that you thoroughly wash it with hot water, in spite of all the goodness it contains. Coming on to roadside foods, you should never consume them during this season, as it can easily cause stomach or abdominal pain and lead to several other health hazards.

Never consume drinks from roadside shops, especially the ones with ice. In low temperature, there is more chance of bacterial growth. Ice is definitely not prepared with hygienic water or good healthy conditions which will altogether lead to many infections, says a doctor.

Doctors also claim that roadside foods lead to many diseases. Home cooked food that is fresh and healthy and hot should only be consumed.

Populous pathogens:
In these days, a few diseases are highly prone to occur because it is during rainy time that the diseases carrying pathogens are populous. Because of water logging, there are more mosquitoes which ultimately results in malaria, dengue or other kinds of fever.

Because of exposure to rain water, one of the common problems that arise is Leptospirosis. Children are mostly affected by this, say doctors. While playing, children unknowingly carry infections that are hazardous. Hence, parents need to be cautious and give them a warm water shower if they play outside in water or rain.
