The news is gathered that several leading Information Technology companies are laying off their employees due to factors like lesser project orders and cost reduction.

Complaints have been received that Cognizant has been putting excess pressure on some of the employees to quit on their own without giving orders. However, the company has been denying it outright.

In this situation, some of the employees have complained to the state government office of the employee welfare board that they are being pressurised by the company to quit the job on their own.

Subsequently, discussions were called for by the 3 agencies – Tamil Nadu state government, Cognizant, and the Cognizant employees.

It is learnt that the senior officials of Cognizant visited the Joint Commissioner of the Employee Welfare Board and informed that they have not asked any employee to quit the job.

Subsequently, the Joint Commission held discussions with the Cognizant employees who had made the complaint.

After the discussion, the Cognizant workers informed the press reporters that the joint commissioner had advised them not quit their jobs if they are only orally asked to do so.
