Crowds throng jewellers to buy gold on Akshaya Tritiya

There is a recent increasing trend among the people to believe in the traditional custom of buying gold on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya will bring prosperity and wealth to the family the whole year.
Though the occasion is on today (Saturday, 29th April), the special sales for this occasion have started yesterday itself (Friday, 28th April).
On this special occasion, many famous and popular jewellery shops in T.Nagar have made concessional offers. So, there is a continuous stream of ladies enthusiastic to see and buy what is on offer.
The sales of diamond jewellery also have picked up. Apart from the crowd in Chennai Metro, people from other places also have come to Chennai on this occasion for gold jewellery purchase.
A lot of concessional offers such as no making charges, no wastage charges, etc. are on offer from jewellery shops.
The number of counters has been increased in all the jewellery shops.
