Adyar River is swelling again because 6,000 cubic feet of water has been released

People staying near the banks of Adyar River are requested to move to safer places since 6,000 cubic feet of water was released from Chembarambakkam reservoir. Because of this the Adyar river has swollen again.
 
Shutters of the reservoir were first opened during the current northeast monsoon on Monday, November 16 after heavy rain the previous day.This is the ninth day that water is being released from Chembarambakkam to the Adyar river. The water from Chembarambakkam flows via Anakaputhur, Gerugambakkam, Manapakkam, Thiruneermalai, Gowl Bazar, Adyar and Saidapet.
 
Kancheepuram and Chennai city police are to step up security measures along the course of water flow from Chembarambakkam.
