Last Sunday, the Chennai Corporation conducted a special camp to help public enroll and make corrections on the electoral rolls ahead of the assembly elections in the state.

The Chief Election officer has announced that another special camp will be held on October 11. The corporation has requested the public to utilize this opportunity for verifying the rolls and also for filing their claims.

Those who attain the age of 18 years as on January 1, 2016, can enrol themselves by furnishing Form 6 to the electoral registration offices concerned. Likewise, Form 7 (for deletion) and Form 8 (for making corrections) and Form 8-A (for transposition within the assembly constituency) should be filed before October 14.

Applicants filing Form 6 for inclusion of their names on the electoral roll are advised to fill in the declaration in Part-IV on it, wherein they need to disclose the details of their previous enrolment as voter, such as EPIC number on any other electoral roll. Failure to do so may result in non-acceptance of the application.
