Skywalk at Ashok Nagar opened for commuters

From yesterday, the skywalk opposite Ashok Nagar Metro Station has been opened to commuters from Thursday. The skywalk on the elevated stretch will connect people coming from Udayam theatre side with Ashok Nagar station.
The skywalk is exclusively for commuters using Metro Rail and it not for public going to Udayam Theatre. As the entrance to the skywalk in near the theatre complex, most of them think it for movie-goers and it not so.
While Ashok Nagar and Koyambedu Metro Rail stations will have one skywalk each, the Guindy Metro Rail station will have two. The skywalk at Ashok Nagar has been opened for commuters after inspection made by officials with regard to safety and security. Similarly, it will take another month for the skywalk to be opened at Koyambedu.
