Addiction to ‘What’sApp’ (Smart Cell Application) keeps youngsters sleepless!

Over the recent months, the trend of exchanging informations/messages by using ‘What’sApp’ has increased manifold.

Especially the trend of youngsters using this application during night times has become a rage! This has directly affected the reading habits of youngsters who read books for a far lesser time!

Being engaged in the morning with school/college classes or work during the mornings till evening, the youngsters are free only during the night time for getting in touch with friends.

Smart phones with internet facility can be used for getting on to applications like ‘What’sApp’ or ‘hike’ which facilitate sending sms & information can be used.

With these apps, one contact anyone living anywhere in any corner of the world and exchange information including audio & video clips, and photos free of cost.

This has largely reduced the trend of sending sms through normal cell phones.

Medical experts’ opinion:

If a person tends to waste his time, especially during night, after working/studying throughout the day, on sending messages through his phone instead of spending good time with family members & friends or doing some important tasks, one can understand that he has become addicted! The time he spends thus will go on increasing.

Even while being aware about the loss of time and rest at the expense of doing better things, the person continues indulging in this.

As far as India is concerned, it is estimated that 5% to 10% youngsters have become addicts. Many parents complain that their children increasing spend more time in Facebook & internet.

‘What’sApp’ should be merely considered as a message-sending facility and nothing more. Youngsters should spend their time better by directly talking with friends, reading good books, and doing physical exercises!
