How to port from RCom to Vodafone?

Vodafone has come up with an idea to help out all Reliance Communication Subscribers who may have to face troubles soon as the RCom is likely to shut down its operations. The telecom operator is loss making and hence will shut its functioning from 1st December. According to an announcement from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, TRAI, a direction is issued to the subscribers according to which RCom is told not to turn down any request for number portability. All the other telecom operators are requested to accept portability request from RCom subscribers until 31st December 2017.
 
What you need to know about Vodafone offer to RCom users
This is offered to all the customers in UP West, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Haryana, Punjab, UP East, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh. This facility is however not available in Delhi, Kolkata, Gujarat and Mumbai.
 
The associate director, consumer business of Vodafone India Avneesh Khosla said they are very pleased to increase value for propositions and face network shutdown. All the customers are invited to experience Vodafone SuperNetTM.
 
So, here is how you can get ported from RCom to Vodafone
  • Enter network settings in mobile handsets and opt for Vodafone network manually
  • Get MNP code by sending message as PORT<Reliance number> to 1900
  • Forward the MNP code with the needed documents and photos at the nearby Vodafone retailer store
  • For any kind of assistance, you may reach the toll-free number 1800 1234567 from any network
  • There will be exciting offers on data and others for those who choose Vodafone network all of which will be affordable, says Vodafone in its release. 
Coming on to the Anil Ambani-led firm, the company has intimated TRAI stating that it is set to upgrade to CDMA network of Sistema Shyam Teleservices. The two have merged to offer 4G services in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Delhi, Rajasthan, UP West, Gujarat, Kolkata, and Karnataka.
