Entrance exam for Engineering likely

Similar to Medical entrance examination, there is also going to be entrance exam for engineering studies as well.
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is conducted for MBBS and BDS studies every year. There is opposition from people of different corners of the country including Tamil Nadu. Now the Ministry of HRD has decided to conduct similar entrance examination for engineering studies.
In a meeting to be held with the All India Council for Technical Education, discussions regarding Engineering entrance exam will be held. If this exam comes to practice, all admissions in B.E and B.Tech will take place via the same.
The centre has decided to implement engineering entrance exam in order to improve standard of engineering studies. During the meeting, there will also be discussion regarding conducting EXIT, an examination to be conducted on completion of engineering course.
