However, it is important that you take care of your health during your period of fasting.

A renowned nutritionist explains a few tips on how to conquer fasting and stay healthy during fasting. Here are the tips:

Never starve
Even while fasting, you should not starve. Eat enough quantity at regular intervals throughout the day. Frequent small meals is recommended for maintaining good stamina. Rather than choosing fried items, opt for baked, grilled or roasted items. You can detoxify your body out of all the junk and alcohol content you regularly consume and keep your blood sugar level under control. Keep in mind that you may encounter severe acidity when you starve for long.
 
Sugar? No-no
Instead of opting for refined sugar, choose to go with jaggery or honey alternates. If you are a kind of person who often eats a lot of sweets, match it with healthy consumption of salads and fruits, as your digestive system can easily process those intakes. Keep snacking regularly so as to maintain normal levels of sugar.
 
Pregnant? No fasting, please
