New toll-free grievance helpline for complaints on Registration Department

The state government of Tamil Nadu has introduced a new facility of a toll-free telephone number for making complaints regarding the services offered by the Department of Registration.
The Department of Registration has the main function of registering documents pertaining to property exchanges, marriage registrations, details of chit fund companies and cooperative societies.
The data registered after receipt from different agencies to the Department of Registration and recorded and these records are used issuing correct data regarding births and deaths.
In case there any complaints about the above services offered by the Department of Registration, this can be forwarded by calling the toll-free telephone number 1800 102 5174, recently introduced by the state government.
This toll-free number functions on all official working days from 10.00 AM to 5.45 PM and the public are advised to make use of this facility.
The complaints received on this toll-free number will be entered into the computer and corrective action will be initiated by the Head of the Department of the Registration.
