Will GST affect on electricity bills?

The central government has planned to bring electricity also under the GST regime.
As taxes up to 25% is collected on electricity bills, the state governments earn revenues of Crores of Rupees. However, with the latest central government decision to do away with the maximum GST slab of 28% in a gradual manner, the possibility of bringing electricity also under GST regimes is being explored earnestly.
However, questions are being raised whether the state governments would agree to give up the revenues earned at 9%.
In a similar vein, the central government is also seriously exploring the possibility of bringing the land and real estate industry under the GST regime.
