Anna Salai to partially become a two-way by next week

There is going to be good relief for motorists heading towards Nandanam via Anna Salai, as close to DMS, a portion of road will be opened for traffic following earlier cordoning off for constructing metro rail 5 years ago. Works along the AD-DMS to Saidapet covering 3.3km stretch is approaching its final stage of works. It is likely that the line will be open during the first quarter of next year.

All the barricades placed are now removed. Workers are now making another layer of bitumen on the lane toward Nandanam near the principal accountant general office. By next week, the route will be opened for traffic.

With this, traffic flow shall be eased, as it will relieve motorists hailing from Cathedral Road and Anna Flyover and heading to DMS will have increased space when they pass through AD-DMS point.

On parts of Anna Salai including DMS, Nandanam, junction, etc, there are a lot of changes already done, as works along the route is about to get wrapped up. At the entry and exit points of the station including AG-DMS, Teynampet, Nandanam, and Saidapet, the CMRL works are about to get completed.

Upon making this stretch operational, metro train will bring better connectivity than merely connecting Anna Salai and city airport.
