Facility to get birth/death certificates online in all city corporations

The facility to get birth and death certificates online has been introduced in all the city corporations throughout the state of Tamil Nadu.
There are 124 corporations functioning in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Until now, the procedure to get the birth or death certificate was for the individual to visit the corporation office, register, pay, and then get them. Now, this procedure has been done away with and the online facility to issue the birth/death certificates has been introduced.
In the 1st phase, this facility will have the provision to issue birth/death certificates and to pay the taxes. Chennaites can visit the corporation website and download the same.
An official from the Department of birth/death certificates issue explained that it is the responsibility of the corporation administration to issue the birth certificates to those who are born in their domain. The activity of issuing birth/death certificates have now been entirely computerised in all the corporations in Tamil Nadu.
In the 1st Phase, the birth/death certificates can be obtained online in 10 corporations including Pallavaram and Tambaram. The task of computerization/online facility of this activity will be completed before the end of this month.
