The rule regarding keeping the original driving licence while driving and checking the same will be strictly implemented from 9th September. The Traffic Police department has informed that the checking has been stopped till 8th September.

When enquiring about this issue to the Additional Commissioner of the Traffic Police Department, he explained that the checking will be done only in the event of the vehicle drivers violating any of the 6 important traffic rules taking on the mobile phone while driving, driving at high speed, drunken driving, taking more load/luggage in the vehicle above the permitted level, jumping the traffic signal, and taking passengers in the good vehicles. The original licence will be demanded only from the above offenders. Stringent action will be taken on the violation. This rule will be implemented stringently from 9th September. Till 9th September, only a strong advice will be given to the vehicle drivers who are checked.

New order from Traffic commissioner - no need for FIR if driving licence is lost

The punishment will be base on the extent of the traffic violation made. The fine will be levied by the police whereas the imprisonment will be ordered by the court.
