Jio site officially shuts down pre-bookings for JioPhone

Posted on: 28/Aug/2017 11:40:42 AM
Through its official website jio.com, Reliance Jio has stopped accepting pre-orders for JioPhones. Now, on their official site, buyers can only register for the 4G feature phone.

On 24th August, at 05.30 p.m., Reliance Jio opened pre-bookings for JioPhone on its official website. After a few hours of this opening, the website went down for a short time period which irked the customers who then started complaining about difficulty in accessing the site. Now, pre-booking for JioPhone is suspended on the whole.

The banner on Jio website reads that millions of pre-booking orders are received in India. Below this statement, there is a line affirming closure of pre-bookings for the phone stating intimation will be given when they resume pre-bookings. The cause for suspension is not clarified. And there is also no clue about the expected date of resuming pre-bookings.

While only pre-bookings are ceased, Jio website allows registrations for the model under Register Now button on the banner. Details like name, phone number, email id, etc should be provided by the customer. In case a customer needs the phone for business or commercial purpose, information such as PAN or GSTN need to be provided.

Amidst these, to confirm successful placement of orders, one can check for updates by dialing 18008908900 or check out the status of booking on MyJio mobile app.
