Rohini Theatre in Chennai has tweeted that Vivegam has collected the maximum amount on the first day than any other film released in their screens. Recently, GST was imposed on movie tickets. This has largely helped in grabbing more collection for the film for Vivegam.
First day collection:
- Vivegam – Rs 1.21 crore
- Kabali – Rs 1.12 crore
- Theri – Rs 1.05 crore
This being the scenario, fans are looking forward to the collection of Mersal starring actor Vijay that is set to hit the screens for Diwali this year.
In Kerala, the first day collection for Vivegam is Rs 2.90 crore. In Karnataka, Vivegam is released in more than 75 theatres of which 40 are in Bengaluru. There were 400 shows on the first day of release in Bengaluru. Usually, 300 shows will be allotted in Bengaluru for Bollywood movies. Vivegam has even exceeded this limit. Amidst these, Brindha Associates have acquired the film rights for Rs 5 crore. As per reliable sources from Brindha Associates, the film has collected more than Rs 1 crore on the first day alone. Though no authentic information is received so far, it is believed that the film has collected close to Rs 2 crore on the first day of release in Karnataka.
Considering all these, the film Vivegam is believed to have collected over Rs 30 crore on the very first day.
