Aadhar card number mandatory for writing NET

CBSE (The Central Board of Secondary Education) has announced that Aadhar card number must be provided while applying to write the NET (National Eligibility Test).

A pass in the NET is mandatory for appointments to the posts of Assistant Professors in the various universities/colleges throughout the country.

Until the year 2016, NET was conducted by CBSE twice a year. However, it has now been announced that NET will be conducted only once a year.

NET for this year is scheduled to be conducted on 5th November. Online registration for NET started on 11th August. Time has been given till 12th September to apply for NET. However, many applicants have not furnished the Aadhar card number.

In this regard, CBSE has made an announcement that Aadhar card number is mandatory to ensure that there are no errors in the personal details of the candidates.

The applicants from the states of Jammy and Kashmir and Meghalaya need to register their Passport number, Ration card number, and the savings bank account number in the application
