When was the last time you checked the total accumulated balance in your Employees Provident Fund? If you haven’t checked recently and wish to do, it is very simple if you are assigned with a Universal Account number by the EPFO.

When you don’t have this 12-digit UAN, you may simply get it activated from your employer to gain access to the summary of PF deducted out of EPFO portal. Throughout the working years, an employee is eligible only for one UAN regardless of the total number of companies they change in between. With the UAN number, one will be able to easily link multiple EPF accounts.

For checking your EPFO account and get the provident fund passbook online, follow the below steps:

Step 1:

Visit EPFO website and login to the member portal. The portal address is http://www.epfindia.gov.in Enter the 12-digit activated UAN Number along with the password to gain access to your account details. When the UAN is not activated, click on the tab below to activate. On feeding the right credentials, it will take 4 days for UAN activation.

Step 2:

Once you’ve got into the portal, there are a number of services available online on the EPFO site. Here, you can keep track of all your queries about claim status, transfer request that are needed if your employer has created a new UAN for tracking your PF account.

Step 3:

There are a number of tabs in dark green ribbon. Here, click the View tab and this will take you to the profile, service history, UAN card, and passbook address. The passbook address has got a separate link to viewing the PF account details.

Step 4:

To access your PF passbook, visit http://www.epfindia.gov.in. It’s a new site that provides details of EPFO. Click our services tab and under this, click on ‘for employees’ link. For checking the EPF contributions made by the employer month on month, click the link called member passbook.

Step 5:

Once you click on member passbook link, you will be taken to a separate tab. Here, you should re-enter the UAN and EPFO password that you used in EPFO portal.

Step 6:

Once these credentials are entered, you may go to EPF passbook and access all the PF contributions made by your employer.
