Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam Board (TTD) has announced that the Tirupathi temple corridors will remain closed for 10 hours on 7th August due to the lunar eclipse occurrence.

Lunar eclipse starts at 10.52 PM on 7th August and lasts till 12.48 AM the next day.

Because of the lunar eclipse, the temple interiors and corridors will be cleaned thoroughly 6 hours in advance of the onset of lunar eclipse – by 4.30 PM on 7th August. The corridors will be closed after that.

The corridors will be opened again in the early morning 2.00 AM on 8th August and the temple interiors will be cleaned again.

After this special Sevas Suprabhatha Seva, Thomala Seva, and Ashtadhana Paadha Aaradhanai will be performed.

Only after this, the public will be allowed to enter the temple. TTD has also announced that special festivals and Pooja scheduled on 7th August such as Special Pooja, Kalyana Utsavam, Oonjal Seva, Arjitha Brahmotsavam, Vasantha Utsavam, and Sahasra Deepa Alankara Seva are all cancelled.
