Lot of top rankers choose engineering course in Tamil this year

This year, a lot of students who have scored cut-off marks of the range 198.25 have selected Tamil medium courses with Anna University. There is just 5 days left for the engineering counselling to begin. Now, the Tamil medium civil and mechanical seats have got almost filled in Anna University. Over hundred students who have scored above 190 have opted for these courses.
Under SC (A), SC and ST categories, just 9 seats are left vacant as of Thursday. One of the top rankers having 198.25 as cut-off has selected mechanical engineering in Tamil at the College of Engineering, Guindy. He says he wishes to pursue mechanical courses at the college. Only chemical engineering seat was vacant when he attended counselling and hence he has selected mechanical course in Tamil.
His score out of 1200 is 1171. His medical cut off is 196.75 and NEET score is 253. There are unique advantages of studying in Anna University. This includes selecting the teacher or course as per choice from second semester.
One other student from Dharmapuri district has opted for civil engineering in Tamil. Her cut off mark out of 200 is 197.5. She has selected the specific course in Tamil as per her relative’s advice.
