Mobile Wallet facility soon for paying electricity bills

TANGEDCO is planning to introduce the facility of mobile wallet through private agencies for payment of electricity bills.
An official explained that as per the guidance of the central government, the higher officials of TANGEDCO recommended the setting up of PoS (Point of Sale) devices in the EB bill collection centres with the help of banks enabling payment through debit cards. However, this recommendation remained neglected.
During the conference of the state electricity ministers, the proposal was recommended introducing digital transactions for electricity bill payment. This has been taken up for implementation on top priority.
It will require more time for TANGEDCO to develop its own App. So, without waiting for this, the plans are afoot to start the facility of the mobile wallet system to receive payment of electricity bills with help from private agencies.
As per this, the consumers can use the app of the contracted agency to make the payment.
An official announcement regarding this will be released shortly. The official warned the consumers not to make any payments through spurious Apps.
