Cine field is one of the potential fields offering boundless job opportunities to people. Starting from film production, people get employment until various other positions until the one who has taken bike parking contract. Cine field is one that has crores of business taking place both directly as well as indirectly.

In Tamil Nadu, there are over 1000 theatres. In cities and urban areas, there are multiplex theatres where there are several screens. Here, the movie ticket is priced Rs 120. In other theaters, the price is Rs 50 for AC theatres, and Rs 30 for normal theaters. However, in theatres apart from multiplex, the ticket may range between Rs 100 and Rs 500 depending on the movie and release time.

During the release of Rajini starrer Kabali, tickets were sold as high as Rs 1000. However, the ticket price is unchanged for over a decade now. Following this, a petition was filed with the Madras High Court requesting for price hike in movie tickets, as the tax, electricity and all others have largely increased. Accordingly, the government is ordered to implement changes in movie ticket catering to the needs of cinema professionals.

While the population coming to theatres to watch a film is already dipping, this price hike is uncertain whether it will benefit the cinema industry or not.
